Sub:     Notice for indefinite strike with effect from 18.02.2014, served by All India Gramin Dak Sevek Union- clarification / instructions regarding.    

As per instruction contained in the Directorate letter No.8/21/2014-SR dated 03.02.2014, I am directed to intimate that All India Gramin Dak Sevak Union has served a notice dated 29.01.2014 under Sub Section (1) of Section 22 of Industrial Disputes Act, 1947 to proceed on indefinite strike w.e.f. 18.02.2014. 

2.         It is requested to take necessary steps to tackle the strike situation as per instructions issued by the Department from time to time, especially the Contingency Plan circulated vide letter No.8-8/2001-SR dated the 8^th January 2002. Further, adequate secutity arrangements may be made for the safety of Departmental Property, particularly the sophisticated equipments including AMPC, Server etc. And to see that the GDSs willing to perform their duties are not harassed /prevented from entering office to perform duty by the striking GDSs. Wide publicity should be given to the consequences of participating in strike viz. apart from the application of the principle of “No work , no pay” , it may invite action in terms of provisions contained in GDS (Conduct and Engagement) Rules.
